Linux Memory

Where the system’s memory is concerned , we must remember that we have:

a. physical memory of the machine itself

b. virtual memory that can be addressed by the processes.

Normally, the physical memory will be less than the necessary virtual memory

1. /etc/fstab: The swap partition appears if it exists. With an fdisk command, we can find out its size.

2. Other commands –

ps, top, free and vmstat
